With this in mind, Grow Your Own magazine have recently tested a number of the best pruning tools on the market, and have found our Advanced Telescopic Bypass Loppers to be amongst some of the finest around for taming your garden! As part Grow Your Own’s ‘On Test’ feature, reviewer Dave Finkle has tackled a whole range of garden tools, giving the yay or nay on pruners, loppers and tree saws. The Telescopic Bypass Loppers came out of Dave’s testing with an impressive score of 12 out of 15, placing it amongst the top of the tools reviewed. The Bypass Loppers were praised for their incredible lightness, whilst still maintaining a good level of strength during use. Dave also felt that the addition of a rubber grommet was a nice feat ...

The Grabrake epitomises everything that the Yeoman brand aspires toward – good quality, innovative products that help make gardening as effortless as possible. Ultimately however, it is the gardeners at home who decide just how able to perform our products actually are, and as such the reward of a perfect score from Tree News (the official Tree Council magazine) was a welcome acknowledgement of the tool’s ability. The Grabrake took pride of place in the latest Kit Review, featured in the magazine’s Spring Summer 2013 issue. Of the seven tools reviewed - all of which were well known brands -the Yeoman Grabrake was one of only two to score full marks in all categories, being seen as an easy to use, versatile tool built to a high standard. All products featured in the Kit Review are tested to their limits by volunteer Tree Wardens. Tools are put through a working day far more intensive than that of a typical home gardener, and are judged accordingly. That ...

We’ve been seeing that the Grabrake has proven popular with gardeners, but who’d have thought it would be a winning tool for clearing up around horse stables? According to Horse & Countryside magazine, the Grabrake is an extremely effective tool beyond the back garden! Reviewed in their latest issue, our all-in-one rake and shovel has left a very good impression. In the September issue’s ‘Tried & Tested’ section, product tester Larry Murphy described the Grabrake as “extremely well designed, easy to use and pretty powerful”, enjoying the fact that after a hard day’s grabbing and binning, the tool can easily be folded away for storage. Any thoughts that the tool was merely a gimmick were quickly dissipated once it was put into action, and is described as being particularly useful for those with a bigger garden – especially if it’s one with horses in! Capable of raking and picking up large amounts of leave ...

It’s cold outside, the nights are never ending, and there’s plenty to watch on TV. Taking a break from the garden might seem like an inviting option right now, but the autumn winter period is also the dormant season for fruit trees - making it an ideal time to get out there, prune back branches, and encourage more productive growth next season. The latest issue of Grow Your Own magazine gives a comprehensive overview on autumnal pruning, helping you get 2014 off to a great start with a little help from some of our tools. ‘A Cut Above’ helps you find the best tools to prune your trees whilst still making the most of their autumn leaves, outlining which fruit trees and shrubs benefit from pruning at this time of year, and which don’t – yes to blackcurrants and grapevines, no to stone fruits. The guide also helps you decide on the right tools for the job – often, reach is essential for tackling those tree branches, and a good ladder ...
